OSHAWA - It wasn't an OMG year, but the GM family is pleased with their sales achievements for 2011 nevertheless. Overall, Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers delivered 242,830 vehicles including 18,282 in December.
They even sold 275 of their new Chevrolet Volt electric car.
"Our 2011 results reflect the highly competitive automotive market in Canada. The ultimate winners are Canadian customers, who continue to benefit from better value and better products," said Kevin Williams, president and managing director of GM of Canada. "Our new products and focus on the customer are hitting the mark with Canadians which bodes well for 2012."
"Our new vehicles are clearly connecting with customers," added Marc Comeau, GM of Canada's vice-president of sales, service and marketing. "We plan to build on this momentum in 2012 as we launch a number of new vehicles perfectly suited to the Canadian market, including the Chevrolet Spark, Buick Verano and the Canadian-built Cadillac XTS."
